Rhonda Koeske

Biography of a Trainer

Rhonda has been involved in the sport of agility since 1995 when she started with her mixed breed, "Spike". "Spike", now deceased, had a long list of achievements that included his USDAA ADCH title, NADAC NATCH title, four years on the USDAA Top Ten lists, USDAA Grand Prix of Dog Agility World Championships Finalist 2002 (7th place), and AMBOR 12” Agility Champion 2002.

Rhonda is currently competing with her four year old, mixed breed, "Tack", JCH, GCH, TM, MAD, SAM, RM, AS, EGC, EJC, EAC, TN-O, WV-O, TG-N, CGC. "Tack" has been competing for two and a half years and is in the Masters and Elite levels of competition in USDAA and NADAC, respectively. As of fall 2006, in just two years of competing, "Tack" had finished her Master Agility Dog, Tournament Master, and Gambler Champion titles in USDAA, among others.

In preparing to bring out "Tack", Rhonda has read many books, and attended seminars and camps to learn the latest in training techniques and looks forward to bringing them to her students. She has a strong interest in distance work and using multiple ways of handling course challenges.

Rhonda believes in positive motivation and training, and that there is more than one right way to train dogs and that success is as much about the relationship as the training.

Rhonda is also involved with the Canine Combustion Dog Agility Club and does Therapy Dog work with "Tack".

Rhonda instructs humans as part of her "day job" with Ford Motor Company.
